2017 Summer Enrichment Information
The information on this page details the summer enrichment assignments for 10th grade students.
Note: To download eBooks, you may need to go directly to the publisher’s website. Just be sure you order a textbook with the same ISBN number, publisher, date of publication and edition.
Those students taking English 2: World Literature (College Prep or Honors) are required to read The Epic of Gilgamesh. A PDF containing the story, accompanying materials, and assessment instructions, may be accessed using the link in the course title.
All sophomores will read What Faith Is and What It Isn’t by Bishop Robert Barron and watch his video “Bishop Barron on Faith and Reason.”

Once students have read the article and watched the video, they should write a short persuasive argument (1.5 to 2 pages in MLA format) in support of the idea that faith and reason complement each other.
Those students taking Geometry (College Prep or Honors), Pre-Calculus (College Prep or Honors) and those students who are taking the Double Math option (Geometry Honors and Algebra II Honors), can download the related summer assignment and assessment by clicking the course titles in this paragraph.
The assignment for each course will be due on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017.
Those students enrolled in Honors Chemistry are required to read Chapters 1 and 2 of the required textbook for this course: Matter and Change (print format), Glencoe Publishing. ISBN 9780078964053 Students enrolled in CP Chemistry are required to read Chapter 1 only. Students are required to complete a Summer Enrichment Packet which can be downloaded by clicking the link in the applicable course title.

For both Honors and CP Chemistry, the assignment will be due on the 09/07/2017.
Those students taking Spanish II (College Prep), Spanish II (Honors), Spanish III (College Prep) or Spanish III (Honors) can download the related summer assignment and assessment by clicking the course titles in this paragraph.
Please note that portions of the assignment will be due throughout the summer—please pay close attention to the due dates.

Students taking Latin II will complete a summer review packet linked to the course name in this sentence.
The assignment is due on the first day of classes.
