2017 Summer Enrichment Information
The information on this page details the summer enrichment assignments for 9th grade students.

The freshmen all-grade book for the summer of 2017 is Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion, by Gregory Boyle. Free Press, 2011. ISBN 9781439153154 Students may choose to purchase in print or digital format.
Students can download the related summer assignment and assessment via the link in the title above. Students will be assessed on this assignment in their Theology courses and should complete the Guided Reading questions over the summer. Additionally, the students will complete a written assessment in the first full week of school.
Note: As an all-grade book, other departments will also be integrating themes and ideas from this text into their coursework.
Those students taking English 1: Survey of Literature (College Prep or Honors) will be asked to read The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell, The Lottery by Shirley Jackson, and A Good Man Is Hard To Find by Flannery O’Connor. A free PDF version of each short story is included along with the assessment. Students can download the related summer assignment and assessment by clicking on the link in the course title above.
Completed annotations are due the first full day of school. A written assessment will be given during the first full week of school.
Those students taking Algebra I (College Prep or Honors) or Geometry (College Prep or Honors) can download the related summer assignment and assessment by clicking the links in the course titles.
The assignment for each College Prep and Honors course will be due on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2017.

Summer work is due on September 1, 2017.

Newly enrolled students (as of June 10, 2017) must email Ms. Creamer at firstname.lastname@example.org in order to gain access to the summer work website.
Please note that portions of the assignment will be due throughout the summer, so please pay close attention to the due dates: July 9, August 6, and September 3, 2017.
Students taking Latin II will complete a summer review packet linked to the course name in this sentence.
The assignment is due on the first day of classes.
